The head of the Kemerovo region, Sergei Tsivilev, supported the appeal of the regional Council of Veterans to deprive the Russian artist Maxim Galkin, who was recognized as a foreign agent, of Kuzbass awards. Mr. Tsivilev announced this in his Telegram channel.
We are talking about two awards: the medal “For Faith and Good”, presented to him in 2004, and the Order of Honor of Kuzbass (2013). The regional Council of Veterans noted: “A public figure who insulted his country and betrayed its interests is not worthy of domestic awards.”
Maxim Galkin spoke out against the Russian military operation in Ukraine. He has repeatedly made relevant statements on his social networks. The artist also gave several charity concerts in support of Ukrainian refugees. In the spring, Mr. Galkin and his wife Alla Pugacheva left Russia. In September 2022, the Ministry of Justice included the showman in the register of individuals-foreign agents.
