Responsible Secretary of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC) Alexei Melnikov said that information about the death of any of the arrested suspects in the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow is unreliable. Previously, similar messages were distributed on social networks.

“We are receiving many calls regarding suspects and accused of committing a terrorist attack on March 22, 2024. At the moment, reports about their location and the death of any of the detainees are not true. I can only say that they are in different institutions,” said Mr. Melnikov TASS.

According to Alexey Melnikov, members of the POC will visit the accused in the pre-trial detention center “as planned” and will act as human rights defenders, “in accordance with the Code of Ethics.”

On March 22, before the concert of the Picnic group, a group of armed men in camouflage burst into Crocus City Hall. They opened fire, an explosion occurred, and later a fire started. According to the latest data, 143 people became victims of the terrorist attack, more than 180 were injured. As part of the terrorist attack case, 11 people were detained, including four perpetrators.

How reported HRC member Eva Merkacheva, four accused of committing a terrorist attack are in the Moscow Lefortovo pre-trial detention center. Lawyers have already visited the alleged terrorists. The accused are currently being held in solitary confinement and undergoing quarantine.
