Ombudsman: the native of Chechnya who died in Moscow is not connected with the terrorist attack at Crocus

A native of Chechnya, Askhab Uspanov, who died at the police station in Moscow, is not connected with the investigation of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall. The Commissioner for Human Rights in Chechnya, Mansur Soltaev, stated this in his telegram channel.

According to the Ombudsman, Uspanov was detained several hours before the tragic incident in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. According to Soltaev, while in the police department the detainee took his own life.

The relatives of the deceased also approached the Ombudsman with a request to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his death. Soltaev is confident that “pro-Western media and foreign agents” are behind attempts to link Uspanov’s death to the emergency at Crocus.

“We will use all legal mechanisms to reveal the truth, and we will seek a thorough procedural verification of this fact,” the ombudsman concluded.
