Over 130 illegal gunsmiths were detained in 48 regions of the Russian Federation in two months

From January to February, the FSB identified 134 people in 48 regions of Russia involved in the illegal production and conversion of weapons. The work of 28 underground workshops for the modernization of weapons and the production of ammunition was stopped.

All of them, according to the department, are involved in restoring the combat properties of civilian weapons and their sales.

The special operation in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the National Guard took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol, the DPR, the republics of Dagestan, Crimea, in the Trans-Baikal, Krasnodar territories, in the Voronezh, Zaporozhye, Kaliningrad, Kursk, Leningrad, regions and in other regions of the country (total in 48 constituent entities of the Russian Federation).

562 firearms of domestic and foreign production were seized: machine guns, machine guns, carbines, shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, revolvers.

11 grenade launchers and flamethrowers, 45 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, and over 30 kg of explosives (gunpowder, TNT) were discovered.
