In the Orenburg region, as of the morning of April 10, the number of residents evacuated due to floods reached 7,703 people. In 79 settlements and 36 SNT, 12.8 thousand residential buildings and 14.9 thousand household plots were flooded.

“In 36 temporary accommodation centers (temporary accommodation points – Kommersant) 1,513 people are accommodated, of which 262 are children. The rest stayed with relatives. Also, 570 heads of farm animals were moved from the flood zone to safe areas,” the press service of the governor and government of the Orenburg region reported in Telegram channel.

In Orenburg, the level of the Ural River reached 978 cm with a critical level of 930 cm. In the expected flooding zone there are 11 districts of the regional capital and 10 settlements near the city.

As the press service noted, a decline in water over the past 24 hours was recorded in 14 settlements in the region. 38 residential buildings have been cleared of water.

A federal state of emergency has been in force in the region since April 7. On the evening of April 9, the water level in the Ural River near Orenburg exceeded the dangerous mark of 930 cm. Governor Denis Pasler called for the evacuation of residents of flooded areas. The day before, a siren also sounded in Orenburg. The mayor of the city, Sergei Salmin, warned that an emergency evacuation could be announced in the near future.
