Ukrainians paralyzed the work of a refugee reception center in the Dutch city of Utrecht. This was reported by newspaper NRC.
The publication notes that the municipality of Utrecht has sounded the alarm about the influx of Ukrainian refugees. The city’s mayor, Sharon Dijksma, called for more accommodation places to be found or risk closing the Utrecht crisis shelter for new refugees. She emphasized that in the Netherlands, 99 percent of reception places are already occupied.
It is known that the center in Utrecht has a capacity of one hundred beds. However, last night 186 Ukrainians spent the night there. The refugees had to sleep just a few meters from each other among cages with imported dogs, cats and birds.
According to the mayor, for “two hundred people” the anti-crisis center has only six showers and six toilets. “This is unbearable,” commented the mayor.
The newspaper clarified that recently, mostly single men who do not want to fight in the Ukrainian army have begun to come to the shelter in Utrecht.
