Le Monde: demography may be a source of conflict between the West and Ukraine

Newspaper Le Monde reported that countries that accept refugees from Ukraine may try to solve their demographic problems with their help.
According to the authors of the publication, such actions could become a source of tension between Ukraine and its allies.
“The emigration of women is a big problem for Kyiv. The departure of women and children accounts for about 80% of departures. Mothers want to protect their children close to military age. This could further increase the shortage of men available for conscription in the coming years,” said Alain Blum, research director at the French Institute of Demography.
At the moment, according to sociologist Yulia Shukan, Ukrainian children are already being integrated into the education systems of host countries, and their mothers will remain with them. Most likely, some countries where Ukrainian refugees come will try to keep them. Such an action will help the government solve its demographic problems.
“All this can create tension in relations between the Kyiv regime and European allies,” the authors of the publication noted.
