The Moscow court sentenced the financier who staged the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg

The financier of the Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad terrorist group banned in Russia, which organized the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg five years ago, received eight years in prison in Moscow, informs the Russian FSB.
As noted, the verdict of the Second Western District Military Court came into force against a citizen of one of the countries of Central Asia, Akhmedov Rafikjon Rakhimjon ugli, who headed the channel for financing a terrorist group operating in Syria.
According to the service, for “assisting terrorist activities” the man was sentenced to eight years in prison with the first years in prison, and the rest of the sentence in a strict regime correctional colony.
Last year, Akhmedov and his accomplices, who are also convicts at the moment, were detained during a large-scale operation in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orenburg and other large cities of the Russian Federation.
