The Ministry of Labor presented a calendar of days off for 2024 - Kommersant

The Ministry of Labor of Russia presented the provisions of the draft resolution on the postponement of days off in 2024. In particular, the ministry clarified how Russians will rest on Victory Day (May 9), Russia Day (June 12) and National Unity Day (November 4). New Year holidays next year will last from January 1 to January 8.

According to the draft resolution, non-working holidays coinciding with weekends are transferred to a working day. Thus, non-working days in 2024 will be:

  • New Year holidays – from January 1 to January 8 (the New Year holidays themselves will begin on December 30, 2023 and will last 10 days);
  • Defender of the Fatherland Day – from February 23 to 25;
  • International Women’s Day – from 8 to 10 March;
  • May Day – from April 28 to May 1 and from May 9 to 12;
  • Russia Day – June 12;
  • Day of national unity – from 3 to 4 November;
  • also the Russians will have a rest from 29 to 31 December.

Earlier, the draft resolution on holidays in 2024 was presented in an interview with Izvestia by Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov. He explainedthat the authorities thus want to maintain a balance between the New Year and May holidays. However, then the head of the Ministry of Labor said that the holidays for the New Year would last exactly until January 8.
