The idea of partial abolition of mother capital for wealthy citizens was appreciated by the Ministry of Labor. Deputy head of the department Andrei Pudov said that the redistribution of materiel from one recipient to another, depending on the need, is not considered in the ministry.

“There is no idea to redistribute from one to another,” RIA Novosti quotes Pudov, who answered the question of whether the Ministry of Labor is thinking about the possibility of providing maternity capital only to those who need it.

The Deputy Minister added that since the beginning of the program, 12 million 700 thousand Russians have already received certificates for mother capital, almost half of them have not yet used the money.

RIA Novosti notes that the amount of payments in 2023 will be 589.5 thousand rubles for the first child, and 779 thousand rubles for the second.

In October, Russian authorities allowed the use of maternity capital to pay for “educational services provided by individual entrepreneurs.” This category includes the work of tutors, private teachers and the services of a non-state kindergarten or school.
