The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation observes how the internal regulations that have come into force in pre-trial detention centers operate. At a solemn meeting in honor of the 220th anniversary of the Ministry, its head Konstantin Chuichenko announced his intention to improve the rules of the order.

The Minister designated the Concept for the development of the penitentiary system of the Russian Federation until 2030, approved last year, as a landmark document. “Here, the main emphasis is on the humanization of the conditions for serving sentences,” Chuichenko emphasized.

This year, new Rules of the internal order of pre-trial detention centers, correctional institutions and centers have been approved, he also recalled. “We will see how they work,” the head of the department said. “And keep improving them.”
