On September 20, the issuance of international passports to Russians with an electronic data carrier was resumed. This was reported in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“From September 20 of this year. The system of the Russian Foreign Ministry, including all diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Russian Federation in foreign countries, has resumed accepting applications for the issuance of passports with a validity of 10 years containing an electronic storage medium.
Recall that the issuance of new generation passports was suspended on August 26 “for technical reasons.”
Now all technical difficulties have been overcome, the Foreign Ministry said.

According to the results of a survey conducted by VTsIOM, 29% of Russians have a foreign passport. 12% of survey participants plan to receive or renew a passport. Of these, 20% now have a passport.
