The court clarified where the former mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman should not go

Today, September 20, the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg clarified which public places former mayor Yevgeny Roizman should not visit. Judge Oksana Mamontova ruled that he was forbidden to visit places where public events are held, which include rallies, pickets, meetings, processions.
“We are actually satisfied, because the court did not begin to identify the concepts of public and public place. A public place can be understood as a place where public events take place,” said Vladislav Idamzhapov, Yevgeny Roizman’s lawyer.
Recall that Yevgeny Roizman is under investigation in a criminal case on discrediting the Russian armed forces (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) because of a video on a YouTube channel in which he expressed his negative attitude towards a special operation in Ukraine.
With a request to clarify the measure of restraint in the form of a ban on certain actions, the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Sverdlovsk Region appealed to the court. No motions or objections were received during the meeting. “For me, this preventive measure is absolutely understandable, and I consider this measure to be quite mild. The most important question: what is a public place? – said during the meeting Evgeny Roizman.
The former mayor is also forbidden to: communicate without the written permission of the investigator with witnesses in the criminal case (with the exception of the family living with him in the same apartment); send and receive letters and telegrams (with the exception of those that are relevant to the case), use any means of communication (except when communicating with a lawyer, investigator, prosecutor, court, calling an ambulance or emergency rescue service).
