The Ministry of Internal Affairs put director Vitaly Mansky on the federal wanted list

Director Vitaly Mansky put on the federal wanted list, follows from bases MIA. Earlier, a criminal case of libel was opened against him after words about theft at the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).

the day before TASS reported that a criminal case of libel (Part 2 of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was opened against Vitaly Mansky for his words about embezzlement at the MIFC. Mr. Mansky, in an interview with journalist Ksenia Sobchak, said that “at least 85% of the budget is stolen from the organization of the film festival.” The criminal case was initiated at the request of director Nikita Mikhalkov, who is the president of the MIFC.

Ksenia Sobchak also reported that she was a witness in a criminal case against Vitaly Mansky. “Mansky said Mikhalkov was offended, came to the police, wrote a statement, a criminal case was opened there, they asked me to testify,” Ms. Sobchak wrote in her Telegram channel.

“I am not at the age to regret the words I said. The fact is that I do not live in Russia and do not agree with what is happening in Russia. And Nikita Sergeevich, apparently, has a need to prove that he does not cut budgets – he just got such an opportunity as a result of my assessment of his activities. It is enough for him to simply publish the documentation and the budget,” said Vitaly Mansky “Caution Media”.

Vitaly Mansky is a Russian and Latvian documentary filmmaker. Mr. Mansky is also the founder of the Artdocfest International Documentary Film Festival, which has been held since 2007. In April 2022 festival stopped his work in Russia after Vitaly Mansky was doused with paint at the entrance to the Oktyabr cinema in Moscow, where films were screened.
