The Ministry of Education supported the idea of wearing patriotic badges in schools

The Ministry of Education of Russia conceptually supported the introduction of badges as an element of school uniforms. This is stated in the response of Deputy Minister of Education Andrey Korneev to a letter from State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova, who had previously made this proposal.
“The Ministry of Education of Russia has considered your proposals on the introduction of wearing badges in educational organizations, as well as the development and approval of the design of badges, and reports that it conceptually supports these proposals,” TASS cites an excerpt from the letter. The process of developing badges and their design will be further developed by the ministry together with the Russian movement of children and youth “Movement of the First”.
Andrey Korneev drew attention to the fact that educational organizations in their local acts can establish their own requirements for school uniforms. At the same time, the letter states that earlier the Ministry of Education came up with the idea of establishing general requirements, therefore, after the relevant changes are made to the law, it will be recommended to define badges “as an element of a school uniform.”
On February 13, Yana Lantratova turned to the Minister of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, with a proposal to introduce school badges. Such an element of form, according to her, is an important part of education, belonging, identification. Ms. Lantratova believes that the badges should become “the pride of the younger generation, an attribute of patriotism, high moral principles, as was the case in the Soviet Union.”
