Singer Yaroslav Dronov, known by his stage name SHAMAN, has responded to accusations of commercial patriotism. According to the musician, people would not listen to his compositions if they did not feel his sincerity.
As Dronov noted, “any label can be glued”, but if everything was really so, then his story would end quickly, and this would happen not even on the first song, but on “its very first line”, because people would not listen to him.
SHAMAN emphasized that it is the viewer who determines what becomes a hit and what “flies into spam.” The artist gave an example that his video for the song “Let’s get up” was viewed on YouTube over 40 million times in a year, and this figure continues to grow. He wondered if it was possible to do this artificially and if this is what is called commercial patriotism.
The singer also dismissed rumors that he was “a project developed by other people.” Dronov called himself “natural and pure history.”
