In Russia, there are no discussions about accessing the Internet with a passport. This was told by the Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev.
“Naturally, no entrances with a passport are discussed,” noted Minister (quote from TASS).
On June 5, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein also declaredthat he does not know about similar initiatives in Russia. He noted that many laws regulating the digital environment have already been adopted. The deputy added that much remains to be done, but “not accessing the Internet with a passport.”
Prior to this, on the air of the radio station “Moscow speaking” the deputy chairman of the committee Andrey Svintsov declaredthat in the near future in Russia they may come to use “some kind of personal identifier that will tell who is behind this account” to access the Internet.
