There are no plans to limit messengers for personal communication of Russians, Maksut Shadayev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia, said during the CNews Forum “Cases and Experience of IT Leaders”.

Formerly Shadayev declaredthat the issue of blocking the WhatsApp messenger in Russia (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) is not being discussed and there are no prerequisites for this.

The channels will be separated from the chats by the “Relevant” tab, where the status will also be located (stories. – Note “Vedomosti”). Channel admins will be able to post messages, photos, videos, stickers, and polls. Subscribers only have the option to view the content. Channels can be run anonymously.
