The Ministry of Culture of Russia will not give distribution certificates to films with LGBT propaganda among minors filmed with private funds, said the deputy head of the department, Nadezhda Reverend. She clarified that the ministry also revokes already issued rental certificates.

“We will not issue a rental certificate… Or we will revoke it if, for example, we are talking about something that has already been issued. We are already recalling a lot, this work is underway, we just don’t stick it out,” she said at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, which discussed the draft law prepared for the second reading to ban LGBT propaganda.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture does not intend to provide state support for such films. “One way or another, when selecting projects, we get the full content about what will be inside. Accordingly, such projects will be rejected,” said Mrs. Reverend (quoted by TASS).

On October 27, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill on a complete ban on LGBT propaganda in Russia, including in the media, the Internet, advertising, literature and cinema. State Duma also intends expand the list of prohibited information to include materials promoting gender reassignment. At the same time, it was decided reject amendments criminalizing LGBT propaganda.

About the reaction to the bill – in the material “Kommersant” “Propaganda requires clarity”.
