The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation did not issue a distribution certificate for the film “Brother 3,” Kommersant reports, citing Vladislav Pasternak, director of the HHG film company.
Thus, despite previously announced plans, the film did not receive the right to be broadcast in cinemas, TV, online services and physical media. The premiere was supposed to take place on November 18.
Moreover, a few hours before the announcement that the film had not received a distribution certificate, the filmmakers held a press conference at which they did not report what had happened. It was also reported that the Ministry of Culture discovered obscene statements in the film.
The reason for the refusal to issue a rental certificate is not officially stated. Pasternak said that this happened due to “subjective and unrelated claims.”
This film has nothing to do with the films “Brother” and “Brother 2”, shot by Alexei Balobanov. One of the main roles was played by rapper Ptah.
