The mayor of Orenburg, Sergei Salmin, said that every city resident affected by the flood will receive 20 thousand rubles as compensation. In case of loss of essential property, payments will be 50 thousand rubles, in case of complete loss of property – 100 thousand rubles.

Mr. Salmin clarified in Telegram channelthat money has already begun to be paid to the victims. To receive them, you need to leave an application at State Services or contact the MFC, the mayor added.

The head of Orenburg also wrote that at 15:00 local time (13:00 Moscow time) the water level in the Ural River in the city area reached 906 cm, in Sakmara – 808 cm. “We are approaching dangerous values. I urge residents of flooded areas: do not wait until the last minute, do not risk your life. Evacuate in advance,” said Sergei Salmin.

On April 5, due to heavy floods, the Ural River broke through an embankment dam in Orsk. A state of emergency has been introduced in the Orenburg, Kurgan and Tyumen regions. The number of flooded houses exceeded 10.5 thousand. The mayor of Orsk, Vasily Kozupitsa, promised that all families affected by the flood in the city would receive payments of 100 thousand rubles. Kremlin believesthat in Orsk now is the “hottest moment”, Vladimir Putin does not intend to visit it yet.
