The Laboratory of Solar X-Ray Astronomy of the Institute for Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that the level of solar activity was the highest in 20 years, amounting to 160.
The activity of the Sun has already turned out to be higher than in 2012-2014, at the peak of the 24th solar cycle. It was assumed that the new cycle would be weaker than the previous one, but solar activity began to grow about 1.5 times faster than predicted.
The maximum of the 25th solar cycle is expected in 2024.
