Rostec has delivered 3,000 smartphones with the Aurora operating system (OS) to government and corporate customers. This was reported in the state corporation.
“We have supplied corporate and government customers with about 3,000 smartphones based on the Aurora OS, further deliveries are being discussed,” reported in Rostec to the TASS agency.
Earlier August 11 Izvestia wrotethat Russian officials have begun testing such smartphones. Sources told the newspaper that several dozen smartphones with the OS have already been delivered to the Federation Council. According to the interlocutor, devices of several Russian brands are involved in testing, including the equipment manufacturer Aquarius.
A source in the Federation Council specified that two types of devices were received by the upper house of parliament – a tablet and a smartphone. He added that gadgets with a Russian OS should “prepare the ground” for a possible transition to domestic devices. The Open Mobile Platform (owned by Rostelecom) is responsible for the development and implementation of Aurora. The press service of the company did not comment on the supply of gadgets to specific customers, but noted that the use of devices at Aurora is growing.
