Participants in the IT industry asked the Ministry of Digital Development to create a register of destructive non-profit organizations (NPOs) in the IT sector operating outside of Russia. It may include unscrupulous organizations that pose a threat to the security and sovereignty of Russia. And this, in turn, will reduce the risks of possible criminal prosecution for software developers who participate in “bona fide” foreign NPOs.
The commission on legal support for the digital economy of the Moscow branch of the Association of Lawyers of Russia (MO AYUR), together with the specialized associations Russoft, ARPP, APKIT and ANO Open Code, sent a corresponding proposal on October 4 to the Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev. A similar letter was sent to the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Anton Gorelkin (United Russia). Executive Director of APKIT Nikolay Komlev, acting. O. Director of ANO Open Code Nadezhda Kostryukova, executive director of ARPP Domestic Soft Renat Lashin and president of Russoft Valentin Makarov confirmed to Vedomosti that they had signed the commission’s conclusion.
