The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation filed a petition for the arrest in absentia of Dmitry Gubin, the former deputy head of the Tver investigative department of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow. He is suspected of exceeding official authority.
As MK learned, the petition for arrest in absentia will be considered by the Basmanny Court. Gubin fled the country, unlike the other defendants in the criminal case – his immediate superior Marat Tambiev and investigator Kristina Lyakhovenko. They, as well as lawyer Roman Meyer, are suspected of receiving a large bribe from a group of hackers in Bitcoin (equivalent to 7.3 billion rubles). For this money, the seizure of cryptocurrency seized from Internet scammers was lifted.
