The International Esports Federation has suspended Russia’s membership

The International CyberSports Federation (IESF) upheld Ukraine’s complaint and suspended the membership of the Russian Computer Sports Federation (FCS). This is reported in press release IESF. Russian players will be able to continue to compete in tournaments in a neutral status.
This decision was made by the leadership of the international federation due to the fact that the FCC of Russia began to work in new regions of the Russian Federation. Ukraine considers these territories to be its own and therefore filed a complaint with the IESF. The FCC’s suspension will remain in effect until the IESF’s general assembly meets, at which members must decide whether to reinstate the Russian federation or extend the suspension until the FCC “removes the reason for the suspension” of its membership.
In February 2022, teams from Russia were banned from competing in world competitions under their flag. Some cyber tournament organizers have completely excluded Russian teams. In August 2023 IESF allowed Russian teams to participate in international competitions under the anthem and flag of the Russian Federation.
