In December, “excess precipitation” is expected in 26 regions, including the Voronezh, Moscow and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in Crimea. In several regions of the Russian Federation, the last month of the year will be cold, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, told TASS.

According to him, a large amount of precipitation is predicted in the Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Kursk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, Tambov, Tomsk, Tula, Ulyanovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in the Altai and Krasnodar Territory, in Adygea, Crimea, Stavropol Territory, Tyva, Khakassia and in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

There will be a precipitation deficit in the Arkhangelsk, Magadan and Murmansk regions, in the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, in the Kamchatka Territory, Chukotka, as well as in the northern half of Yakutia and the north of the Khabarovsk Territory.

As Mr. Vilfand clarified, the average monthly temperature will be below normal in Karelia, Vologda, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov and Tver regions. Temperatures in the Moscow region are expected to be “around or below normal.” December is forecast to be warmer than usual in the Astrakhan, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Rostov regions, as well as in the Altai and Krasnodar territories, Tyva, Khakassia, Stavropol and the republics of the North Caucasus.

On the night of November 27, the south of Russia was covered by the most powerful storm in the entire history of observations. As a result, several people died. Ministry of Emergency Situations predicted this week there was a power failure in 15 regions.
