The head of the investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was arrested in the Leningrad region on suspicion of bribery

The United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg released a message stating the detention of the head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Colonel of Justice Igor Shikhovtsov.
The department clarified that Shikhovtsov was arrested by decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg until January 28, 2024 on suspicion of receiving a bribe in the amount of 8 million rubles.
Together with the head of the investigative department, his subordinate, Justice Major Alexandra Zaitseva, was also detained.
