The head of the Human Rights Council (HRC), Valery Fadeev, said that he and his colleagues are working on creating a single database of victims of political repression. According to Mr. Fadeev, in Russia “they don’t deny what we don’t like” and “they don’t try to sweep hard facts under the rug.”
“My colleagues and I are actively engaged in educational activities, monitor memorials and found graves, and work on creating a single database of victims of political repression. So, in Tomsk in early November, we will open a new museum on this topic with the director of the Gulag Museum Roman Romanov,” Valery Fadeev says. press office HRC.
The message mentions that October 30 is the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repressions. “We remember and talk about the terrible page of our history, which should not be forgotten,” the HRC said.

The capital’s mayor’s office referred to the ban on public rallies due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since 2007, the event has been organized by “Memorial” (recognized as a foreign agent, and the “International Memorial” was liquidated by the court).
