The incidence of coronavirus and SARS in Russia has been intensively declining for the second week in a row. This was announced by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
She drew attention to the fact that covid in the fall began to manifest itself as ordinary seasonal respiratory viruses. According to Popova, after summer surges in the incidence, a new wave occurred on September 7-10. Usually, just at this time, the rise in the incidence of acute respiratory infections begins after the start of a new academic year in schools and universities, the return of children after summer holidays to kindergartens. And now there is a decrease in cases of both covid and SARS.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor expressed the hope that SARS-CoV-2 will continue to behave like seasonal respiratory infections, if there are no new serious mutations.
At the same time, Popova recalled the imminent seasonal rise in the incidence of influenza, recommended getting vaccinated and not forgetting about preventive measures.
