The head of Komi reprimanded the policeman for a remark about parking – Kommersant

Appeared in Telegram channels video, which shows part of the dialogue between the head of Komi and a traffic police officer who drove up to the parking lot of Vladimir Uyba’s service jeep in Syktyvkar. The representative of the traffic police pointed out to the highest official of the republic that he had violated traffic rules, and the governor reprimanded him in response.

The incident took place in the center of the Komi capital, on Pervomaiskaya Street. The traffic police crew, on a signal from one of the townspeople, drove up to the place of illegal parking of several cars. From one of them came the head of the region. The lieutenant, introducing himself, asked him to remove the jeep, since cars cannot be left in this area.

Vladimir Uyba refused, referring to the fact that he had a meeting here, and noted that “people complain about things that should not be complained about.” He also stated: “I temporarily cordoned off the territory for myself, you have to stand here and say that the territory is cordoned off for a meeting of the head of the republic, the guarantor of the Constitution.” And then, in an orderly tone, he added that the traffic police officer got up and stood until the head left.

The administration of Vladimir Uiba has not yet commented on the situation. In an informal conversation with Kommersant, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Komi reported that “a check has been launched to clarify the circumstances under which the video intended for official use was posted on the Internet.”

One of the employees of the apparatus of the former leadership of the region expressed an expert opinion to Kommersant: “When the first person needs to leave official vehicles in a place where it is not supposed to park, it is enough to notify the internal affairs authorities in advance to get approval. The head of the region himself is not authorized to cordon off the territory for parking. This is the authority of the state traffic inspectorate if there is a corresponding order from its leadership.

Whether Mr. Uyba will be brought to administrative responsibility for violating traffic rules is not yet known.
