Eight years ago, a great tragedy happened in the life of Ivan Urgant: his mother, actress Valeria Kiseleva, died suddenly. The woman found her last refuge at the Komarovskoye cemetery near St. Petersburg. MK correspondents visited the graveyard and found out that the grave of the mother had long been favored by unexpected guests.

For everyone, without exception, the death of Valeria Kiseleva came as a complete surprise. The woman did not suffer from chronic diseases. She worked in one of the theaters in St. Petersburg and went on stage until the very end. A few days before leaving, Kiseleva fell ill with the flu. She didn’t turn to doctors for help: she thought she could recover on her own. But the disease began to progress rapidly. When an ambulance was called, the arriving doctors could only confirm her death.

Valeria Kiseleva was buried at the Komarovskoye cemetery. This churchyard is located 30 kilometers from St. Petersburg. The cemetery here is small (only a couple of hundred graves), but elite. The most famous and outstanding people of St. Petersburg are buried here, for example Anna Akhmatova: her burial is located on the central alley.

Finding the grave of Ivan Urgant’s mother turned out to be difficult. Even many cemetery workers are not aware that Valeria Kiseleva is buried here.

“I know where the grave of Nina Urgant, Ivan’s grandmother, is,” one of the employees shrugged. “I don’t know where my mother is.”

The search took about twenty minutes in total. The woman rests near the central entrance to the necropolis. Ivan erected the monument to his mother in a very original way. By the way, his father Andrei Urgant once admired him.

“In our youth, when we graduated from college, we played with Valeria Ivanovna in the play “Bumbarash,” explained Andrei Urgant. — The stone that is installed on the grave is very similar to the scenery from that play. Vanya himself remembered this and ordered such a stone from the artist. Amazing concept and idea!

The grave of Ivan Urgant’s mother does not stand out among the others. What immediately catches your eye: she is being looked after. It is clear that the grave has already been prepared for winter: there are no leaves here. The only thing is that it is advisable to update the paint: over time it began to fade.

Apparently, people specially hired for this are looking after the grave of Ivan Urgant’s mother. Because there are no traces indicating that there were visitors here. At Valeria Ivanovna’s grave there are no living (or artificial) flowers, sweets, cookies and other treats that are usually left by relatives of the deceased.

“I come here often: my husband is buried here,” one of the women who came explained to us. “But I didn’t see Ivan here.” We probably visit at different times. And besides, he lives in Moscow – you can’t run into him every week or even a month. But this grave is always in order – it is really looked after.

Before our correspondents had time to leave the grave of Valeria Kiseleva, unexpected guests appeared nearby… Squirrels!

“They live here,” the woman smiled. “Squirrels have long chosen these places. It’s quiet, calm here, there are coniferous trees: no one bothers them. And food is easy to find. People who have the graves of relatives here know this. And they themselves bring them food: nuts, for example.
