In the first days of January, Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit took a course for a young fighter at one of the Wagner PMC bases. The head of the region in his Telegram channel also said that officials from the regional administration were trained with him. In support of his words, Starovoit posted a video where he rides a tank in military uniform and with a machine gun in his hands.
“The first week of the new year, with colleagues from the administration of the Kursk region and Kursk people from the voluntary people’s squad, they were trained at the Wagner PMC training camp, surrounded by real men — patriots of Russia,” the head of the region noted.
In turn, the head of a private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that Starovoit took a course “along with all the fighters, slept in the same barracks,” and the fighters did not know that this was the governor of Kursk. According to the businessman, after the training course, Starovoit was offered to sign a contract with “musicians”, but “it turned out that at the moment he has work obligations.”
