Conscripts who reach 27 years of age before January 1, 2024 are removed from military registration and sent to the reserves. This was announced by the head of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Colonel General Yevgeny Burdinsky.

“At the same time, citizens of the Russian Federation who reach 27 years of age in 2024 have the opportunity to fulfill their constitutional duty and obligation to defend the Fatherland,” the Colonel General said in an interview with the Ministry of Defense newspaper “A red star”.

At the same time, according to the Colonel General, those called up for service in the spring will not participate in the military operation in Ukraine. Sending conscripts to the troops from assembly points in the regions should begin on April 15.

The spring conscription in Russia will begin on April 1. This year it takes place under new rules. The upper limit of conscription age was raised from 27 years to 30 years from January 1, 2024, the lower limit remained unchanged.
