On March 20, 2024, the flame of the VIII International Children of Asia Summer Games, which was lit yesterday at the foot of the sacred Lena Pillars, began its journey through the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, spoke about this on his social networks.

The torch relay began from Pokrovsk, which is located in the Khangalassky district – the area where the founder of the Games, the First President of Yakutia, Mikhail Efimovich Nikolaev, is from.

Aisen Nikolaev noted that there is a long way to go. The flame should visit all the uluses of Yakutia and, at the end of the relay, arrive in the capital of the republic, Yakutsk, for the opening ceremony of the Children of Asia Games on June 26, 2024.

“Let the fire, with its warmth and light, unite us all even more and become a symbol of unity! From friendship to sports – to peace on earth!” wrote the head of the republic.
