For the first time in Russia, a wedding ceremony took place in which the marriage was registered without a passport, but using biometric data. The pioneers of the new direction were young teachers Roman and Daria Babaev from the Voronezh region.
The press service of the Center for Biometric Technologies (CBT) reported that the marriage was registered on the sidelines of the Russia exhibition. During the ceremony, the newlyweds reportedly confirmed their identity without presenting any documents – using a tablet.
The newlyweds registered verified biometric data in advance.
Registration took place as part of the Day of the Voronezh Region at the exhibition-forum “Russia”.
