The Russian Senate approved at a meeting on November 30 a law that extended the freeze on the indexation of the amount of monetary allowance, which is taken into account when calculating military pensions.
The operation of the norm, according to which from January 1, 2012, when calculating a pension, a monetary allowance of 54% is taken into account, and after January 1, 2013 it increases every year by 2% until it reaches 100% of its size, is suspended until January 1, 2024 .
At the same time, the amount of monetary allowance, which is taken into account when calculating the military pension, increases to 85.47%.
The government noted that this took into account earlier decisions to increase the pensions of Russians discharged from military service (and equated to it) by 8.6% from January 1 of this year and by 10% from June 1.
The explanatory note states that the draft budget for the next 2 years takes into account the increase in the monetary allowance of the military by the forecast inflation rate of 5.5% from October 1, 2023.
Therefore, military pensions will increase by 5.5%.
As stated in the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the bill does not violate the obligations assumed by the state in 2012 to increase military pensions, the pace of their growth is being met in full.
