The Cerberus variant of the coronavirus is more contagious compared to the latest Omicron strains. Natalya Pshenichnaya, Deputy Director for Clinical and Anatomical Work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, warned about this. At the same time, the doctor noted that “Cerberus” in terms of symptoms and the course of the disease almost does not differ from other variants of “Omicron”, and compared to “Delta” it is even easier to tolerate.
Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, warned that two new variants of coronavirus have been identified in Russia, one of them is a subspecies of the Omicron Cerberus strain. In the future, the geography of their distribution will expand.
