The Espanyola fighter spoke about serving with the lion in the Northern Military District: “Made me nervous”

The real king of beasts appeared in Espanyol – in the first volunteer unit formed from football fans. The fighters already have a lioness named Kiara, and now the squad has been replenished with another lion cub. An MK correspondent talked to a “trainer” of wild cats and learned how not to make a mistake and choose the right pet, at what age you can start training, and what other wild animal a fighter would like to have.

In the summer, we already communicated with an Espanyola fighter with the call sign “Cirkova,” who is training the lioness Kiara, who has lived in the unit for a long time. Then the fighter said that “Spaniard”, the volunteer commander, plans to take care of another lion cub, with whom Kiara will start a family in the future. And then, a few months after our conversation, a charming baby named Bonya appeared at Espanyol.

Now he looks more like a playful kitten, but very soon he will turn into a real king of animals.

“Circus” says that the lion cub appeared in the squad at the age of two weeks. The baby was born in the Donetsk Zoo, where he spent the first weeks of his life in the company of five other brothers and sisters. For some reason, the mother lioness refused to feed her offspring, and zoo staff needed to purchase expensive formulas so that the cubs would not die of hunger. Therefore, when an offer was made to transfer one of the lion cubs to Espanyol, the management did not object.

– Why did you choose him? – I ask Circus.

– Everything is very simple. Anyone who came up to you several times and rubbed himself against you means that you should take him. They choose the person themselves, to be honest.

“Circus” says that initially the baby was fed formula. Thanks to the volunteers who helped purchase expensive food. As soon as Bonya grew up, minced meat appeared in his diet, and now the lion cub can eat chicken on his own.

A big kitten sleeps in the same room with his trainer and his royal poodle. Apparently, this is why the wild animal treats dogs walking around the territory with complete indifference. In general, according to the interlocutor, the baby does not cause much trouble. There was, however, one not very pleasant moment that made both the trainer and his charge a little nervous.

“One day it turned out that Bonya ran to the seashore and lost sight of me. I lost it too. I ran to look and heard “Mau-Mau” yelling somewhere. And as soon as I came out, he saw me and shot at me. The poor guy was scared that he was left alone.

– How is Bonya’s day going? Does he have any training and rest hours?

“No, you can’t touch him yet,” explains the fighter. – The load at such a young age can have a bad effect on his attitude towards people. And an angry, frightened animal poses a real threat.

Therefore, for now Bonya, as befits a child, frolics, plays, eats and sleeps. Serious training will begin at the age of six months.

– Bonya, like any cat, is, of course, wayward. He goes into your hands and lets you pet him, but when he gets tired of it, he starts to freak out and break free. This means we need to let him go so that he can run and release energy.

According to the trainer, now the baby’s favorite toy is a ball that continuously rolls around on its own. Bonya also likes to watch TV.

“My favorite program is “Guys about Animals,” “Circus” laughs. – Well, but seriously, he looks at everything where there is movement in the frame.

Bonya has not yet interacted with her future girlfriend. The trainer sometimes brings the baby to the cage where Kiara lives, but nothing more. Introducing the lions will begin no earlier than when Bona turns six months old. So that, if something happens, he can stand up for himself. Of course, no one excludes the possibility that Kiara will refuse to accept the young lion, clarifies Tsirkova.

– And what should we do then? After all, you took him so that they could become a couple.

– To be honest, animals are taken first of all for the soul. But, in general, I think they will get used to it.

“Circus” admits that his dreams are to have another tiger. Tabby cats are a special love for trainers. He hopes that he can convince the commander.

– And then what will you do with them? After all, the special operation will end sooner or later.

– They will stay with us. We will definitely not hand over anyone.
