Deputy Matveychev questioned the complete ban on Apple technology for Russians
Oleg Matveychev, deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, believes that in our country it is unlikely that Apple equipment will be banned for all citizens. He commented to Lente.ru on the restrictions imposed on employees of some government agencies to use the gadgets of a well-known corporation.
“Most likely, this will concern certain structures,” Matveychev believes. “No one even thought about a complete ban on users in private,” the parliamentarian said.
“Government agencies are working with both secret documents and databases that can be used against,” he said. In his opinion, if security experts say that there are risks of espionage, then “it is better that these risks are minimized.”
The Russians, he believes, can continue to buy Apple equipment for themselves. “If the price doesn’t bother you, then for God’s sake,” the deputy added.
