The State Duma adopted in the first reading a law on confiscation of property for fakes about the army
At a plenary meeting, the State Duma of Russia adopted in the first reading a bill providing for the inclusion in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation of the possibility of confiscation of property for fakes about the Russian Armed Forces, as well as public calls for activities that are directed against the security of the country.
The corresponding document was introduced by parliamentarians headed by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. The new bill amends Art. 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which implies confiscation of property, and also expands the list of crimes for which it is possible.
These crimes include violation of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fakes about the army”) and Art. 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public actions directed against the security of Russia”).
