The State Duma of the Russian Federation, during a plenary meeting on Thursday, adopted in the third and final reading a package of bills on maintaining child care benefits for children up to one and a half years old in the event that his parent decides to go to work early.
It is noted that the documents were submitted to the lower house of parliament by the Russian government in October. Relevant legislative initiatives introduce amendments to the laws “On state benefits for citizens with children” and “On compulsory social insurance in case of temporary disability and in connection with maternity”, as well as to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation (LC RF).
Under the new rules, a parent will retain the right to receive a special monthly child care allowance even if he decides to go to work early before his child reaches the age of one and a half years. The rules apply to mothers who were fired during pregnancy and maternity leave due to the liquidation of their organizations.
In addition, those who work remotely will have the right to a monthly allowance for child care up to one and a half years old.
