The doors of a new branch of School 21 opened in Ingushetia

The campus in Magas became the first in the North Caucasus Federal District, the Sber press service reported. The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, President and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank German Gref, General Director of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia Valery Gergiev and philanthropist Mikail Gutseriev. The guests congratulated the school team on the opening and talked with the participants in the qualifying round.

High-tech future of the Caucasus

It is clarified that the project is being implemented in Magas on the initiative of the head of the Republic of Ingushetia, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, with the support of the SAFMAR group.

New campus with an area of ​​3,500 sq. m. is located on three floors of the Academy of Digital Development. The uniquely designed building, inspired by the regional identity, houses 250 workstations. And the school’s clusters are named after the main values ​​of the Ingush people: nobility, courage, trust and patience.

“The Caucasus has huge potential and a large number of young people who today are mainly involved in sports. Sport is undoubtedly important, but we remember very well the times when not only great athletes, but also great scientists came out of the Ingush land and the Caucasus. And we want to add to the interests of young people in the Caucasus ultra-modern intellectual professions that will allow children right from here, from Ingushetia, to work in the best Russian companies,” said German Gref.

He thanked the regional authorities and businesses, and also noted that the project makes it possible to produce 14 in-demand specialties on the market, from programming to robotics. The level of graduates is middle.

Well-known in Russia and abroad, natives of the Caucasus manifest themselves not only as outstanding athletes, such as the 2008 Olympic boxing champion Rakhim Chakhkiev or the Soviet weightlifter Israil Arsamakov.

Ingushetia gave Russia talented scientists, engineers, doctors and programmers. A striking example of this is the first Ingush ethnographer Chakh Akhriev. Among modern scientists are Professor of the Sorbonne and cultural historian Maret Tsaroeva, as well as Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Tagir Aushev.

In addition, the Caucasus demonstrates serious success in the field of programming. Thus, Selim Seferbekov, a native of one of the republics, became the winner of a competition to create an algorithm for identifying deepfakes. Local IT specialists are also successfully developing an application to popularize their native language.

The world of programming for young people

“Ingush youth are productively engaged in innovative projects, and School 21 is one of the options for obtaining excellent technical knowledge, the ability to effectively use advanced technologies, and the readiness to be in demand in the modern labor market. We know that today Sber uses more than 200 artificial intelligence models in working with corporate clients, and this work is effective in terms of financial profit. The latest technologies are used in various segments of activity,” noted the head of the Republic of Ingushetia, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov.

Today, the residents of Ingushetia especially need attention from a recognized leader in digital and economic development. “School 21” will allow the local population to open the world of programming and gain the keys to knowledge in the field of digital development.

The qualifying stage has started

A qualifying intensive is taking place in Magas, where more than 300 people are participating. Among them are philologists, journalists, information security specialists, lawyers and representatives of other professions. More than 2,500 people applied for training, 93% of whom were residents of Ingushetia.

The press service notes that a business accelerator and other innovative projects will also appear on the territory of the Academy of Digital Development.

“We are opening the Academy of Digital Development in Ingushetia to give new impetus to the development of the region and the entire North Caucasus. Ingushetia has a very young population that needs new opportunities to realize their potential. We are creating these opportunities in the most promising direction today – the direction of information technology and digital business. We are grateful for the support of the region’s leadership and Sber, which today opens the doors of its “School 21” here – one of the most innovative educational projects not only in Russia, but throughout the world,” summed up Mikail Gutseriev, founder of the SAFMAR charity foundation.

In total, more than 4,900 people from 70 regions of Russia study at School 21’s eight campuses. By the end of the year, eight more regional campuses of the project are planned to open. Training takes place on a domestic digital platform with constantly evolving and relevant content.
