Preparation takes place in several stages: firstly, this is educational training from the puppy – there is a department for this. Then the dog is transferred to the specialty training unit, and upon completion of the course, which lasts for 4 months, he enters there, where he continues to serve until retirement, that is, for 6-8 years.”
As for breeds, the main ones are German Shepherds and Belgian Shepherds: “Caucasian Shepherds are used for guard duty; there are also other breeds, such as Labradors and spaniels. But in general, everyone has abilities, if the dog has excellent sense of smell and is trainable, willingly follows the commands of a specialist, then a yard dog can work for us.”
