Yaroslavsky (YAGOMIK) Nikolai Bugaev reported “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, that he is not going to change the abbreviation and name of the museum. According to him, the obscene abbreviation has not been used for several decades.
“As for the abbreviation, we haven’t used it anywhere for about 20 years, but to abbreviate it we write Yakutsk Museum. Someone just remembered this in light of the change in the VSEGEI acronym and thought it was funny. Such interest only plays into our hands,” said Nikolai Bugaev.
He noted that the museum does not plan to give up its name, since it has two official equivalent names: Yakut State United Museum of History and Culture of the Peoples of the North named after. Eat. Yaroslavsky and the Yakutsk Museum.
