The director of the film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” Oleg Ryabokon died in St. Petersburg
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, film director Oleg Ryabokon died in St. Petersburg at the age of 85 on January 6. Fontanka reports this.
The publication notes that Ryabokon is familiar to viewers primarily from the 1983 film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves,” in which Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Oleg Tabakov, Tatyana Nikitina, and Veniamin Smekhov played the main roles.
The director also shot a television benefit film for Nikolai Karachentsov, “One for All!” in 1985.
Oleg Ryabokon graduated from the Leningrad Military Mechanical Institute, and in 1972 he graduated from the acting and directing department at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography.
The cause of the director’s death is not known.
