The capital’s heat did not disappoint and allowed us to test the capabilities of evaSMART. The design of the device and the principle of operation are elementary. At the back wall of a plastic cube, five liters in volume, a fan is installed. It drives air through the cartridge, which is saturated with water from the side reservoir. The evaporating liquid takes part of the energy, cooling the flow by a difference of 4 to 10 degrees from the incoming one.

The heart of the device and its key feature is just the cartridge. Its membranes are composed of basalt fibers. They are a thousand times thinner than a human hair, which allows you to get a huge surface area for water evaporation in a small volume. Basalt is an inorganic material, which excludes the appearance of mold and other small growing and living ones. For cellulose-based evaporators, for example, this degree of hygiene is not achievable. But even in evaSMART, it is recommended to change the cartridge every four to six months, the manufacturer notes. Often such a device is placed near a window, from where dust flies into it.

Of course, the evaporative mini air conditioner will not replace the real one in terms of cooling area. But they are quite effective and quickly solve an individual request. When, for example, home or colleagues start a lawsuit with you for the right choice of room temperature. EvaSMART effectively regulates the microclimate of a particular person, maximum of a couple, if it is a sleeping place.

At the same time, unlike a conventional air conditioner, an evaporative air conditioner does not dry, but, on the contrary, moisturizes the air. It is also truly portable. Powered by an external battery or computer, powered by a USB-C port. The voice assistant “Alisa” unties the hands of users when managing evaSMART. But for experimenting with tank lighting scenarios, evaporator operating time and statistics, the developers have provided a mobile application.
