The Department of Transport of the Moscow City Hall reported interruptions in paying for travel on the capital’s public transport with bank cards. Passengers were advised to pay for travel using biometrics, a Troika card and tickets purchased at the box office. Later, the Department of Transport reported that payment by cards was working normally.
“There are temporary interruptions in the acceptance of bank cards to pay for travel on Moscow public transport. If access to the card is denied and the funds are debited, the funds will be returned automatically in the near future. VTB Bank is actively working to resolve the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the Moscow Department of Transport reports in its Telegram channel with reference to representatives of VTB, which is the acquiring bank in the Moscow metro. The reasons for the failure and the time frame for its elimination are not specified.
At 13:04, the department reported that payment for travel by bank cards was again operating as normal. “The written-off fares will be automatically returned to users in the near future. You can track your refund in the application of your issuing bank,”— added in the dept.
