The deceased vice-president of LUKOIL Robertus was a defendant in a bribery case
LUKOIL Vice President Vitaly Robertus, who died in early March, was involved in a criminal case for bribery along with the head of the company’s customs department, Alexey Stepanov. Data taken from site courts of general jurisdiction in Moscow.
The resolution on the press service website states that a criminal case was opened on April 2, 2024 for giving a bribe during the period from February 1, 2023 to March 5, 2024. The defendants in the case are Robertus V.V. and Stepanov A.A. They gave money to employees of the Central Energy Customs of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
The court chose a preventive measure for Stepanov in the form of detention under Articles 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Giving a bribe” and 183 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal receipt and disclosure of information constituting commercial, tax or banking secrets.” On April 9, the court ruling came into force.
Earlier it became known about the death of Vitaly Robertus, vice president of LUKOIL. He died at the age of 53.
