The Shot Telegram channel reported that the owner of the rights to the image of Zhdun from the popular meme filed almost 500 lawsuits over the use of the creature’s image on television and social networks.
As the authors of the channel clarify, the plaintiff is demanding compensation in court for the fact that the image of Zhdun was used in videos and programs, in his opinion, illegally. He demands compensation.
“Among the defendants are popular bloggers, as well as the NTV channel. There are currently about 50 cases pending in Russian courts. In total, the plaintiff demands to recover more than 48 million rubles,” the channel reported.
